This tutorial series primarily explains the production process of the cel-shaded anime character “Elena.” It begins with finding references, then moves on to model creation, UV mapping, simple material masking, the use of shader nodes, advanced uses of various modifiers, the use of solidification and Freestyle outlines, the compositing, rendering, and animation workflow, culminating in the final completed artwork. The tutorial simplifies many unnecessary steps, such as material texture drawing, and demonstrates how to easily complete some troublesome modeling and materialing tasks using modifiers. It leverages the versatility of Blender while integrating modeling, materialization, and rendering, reducing cumbersome inter-software interactions. After completing this course, you will have acquired a wealth of knowledge and skills for creating anime characters.
