This course introduces participants to the fundamental principles and practical applications of EPANET, the leading software for modeling water distribution networks. Through structured lectures, step-by-step tutorials, and hands-on projects, you will learn to construct detailed system layouts, define pump and tank characteristics, and manage varying demand patterns. Key hydraulic concepts, including flow dynamics, pressure management, and head loss calculations, will be thoroughly covered to ensure you understand how each component interacts within the network.
You will gain proficiency in setting up extended period simulations to capture variations over time and learn how to apply logical controls for pumps and valves. By analyzing different scenarios, such as pipe breakage or pump failure, you can evaluate system resilience and identify strategies to maintain efficient operation under varying conditions.
