Entropy is one of the most confusing and intimidating topics in thermodynamics exams. Many students understand formulas but struggle to explain what entropy actually means, how it changes in a process, and how to apply entropy balance equations correctly under exam pressure.
This course is designed to solve that problem.
Thermodynamics Exam Prep: Entropy Explained Simply focuses on helping you understand entropy in a clear, intuitive way and then shows you how entropy is actually used in thermodynamics exams. Instead of overwhelming you with abstract theory, the course builds understanding step by step and connects every concept directly to exam style problems.
You’ll learn what entropy represents physically, how to visualize entropy changes using Tds diagrams, and how to calculate changes in specific entropy for pure substances. From there, the course introduces entropy balance equations and shows you how to apply them systematically to solve typical exam problems involving equilibrium, irreversibility, and final temperature calculations.
Special attention is given to common exam mistakes, such as misinterpreting entropy changes, mixing up reversible and irreversible processes, and applying balance equations incorrectly. Each topic is reinforced with worked examples so you can see exactly how entropy is used in practice. This course is intended as a focused complement to your university thermodynamics lectures. It works especially well if you feel short on time or unsure how to approach entropy questions during exams.
In this course, you will learn how to:
- Understand what entropy represents and how it is used in exams
- Visualize entropy changes using Tds diagrams
- Calculate changes in specific entropy for pure substances
- Classify thermodynamic processes using entropy and reversibility
- Apply entropy balance equations step by step to solve exam problems
If your goal is to remove confusion, build confidence, and solve entropy related exam problems with a clear method, this course is designed for you.
