The course answers the following questions: What are Hybrid & Electric Vehicles? How are they better? How exactly are they Fuel efficient? What goes on in the industry to design them? Where do the system losses in hybrid vehicles come from and what is done by design engineers in the industry to minimize them and increase the overall system efficiency? How are automotive systems modeled? What is the philosophy of a hybrid supervisory controller and how is it implemented?
This course introduces the fascinating world of hybrid vehicles and shows what makes them so efficient. The instructor talks about why fuel economy is essential and why is it challenging to achieve. He introduces the science behind how hybrid transmissions help in improving the fuel economy of the vehicle. This course prepares an individual willing to join hybrid and electric vehicle design and development teams for what to expect. This course informs the learners of the activities that are performed in the industry to improve fuel economy and design a hybrid, plug-in hybrid, and electric vehicle. The concept of a hybrid supervisory controller is introduced and its implementation is discussed.
A great beginner-level course that does not require any prerequisites and is easy to follow for audiences from non-automotive backgrounds.
- For college graduates and individuals who want to re-skill to work in hybrid and electric vehicle industry
- For individuals who want to venture into zero operating emission automobiles and want to understand what the industry invests there efforts in
- Automotive engineers willing to contribute in reversing rapid climate change by working on high fuel economy based solutions
