Udemy – Safety & grid testing requirement as per IEC 62909 & 61727

“This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.” This advanced technical training program provides in-depth coverage of key IEC standards governing safety, performance, and utility interface requirements for bi-directional grid-connected power converters and photovoltaic (PV) systems.

The course focuses on the following areas:

• IEC 62909-1 and IEC 62909-2
These standards define the general, safety, and functional requirements for bi-directional grid-connected power converters (GCPCs). The training explains standard terminology, system architecture, operating principles, and essential safety provisions applicable to modern grid-interactive equipment.
• Distributed Energy Resource Interface Requirements
Detailed understanding of interface requirements for connecting EVs, battery energy storage systems, and PV systems to GCPCs, building upon the framework defined in IEC 62909-1 and expanded in IEC 62909-2.
• Safety Fundamental Concepts
Coverage of core electrical safety principles, including hazard identification, risk mitigation, insulation coordination, protective measures, and interpretation of safety clauses, enabling correct application of IEC safety standards during design and testing.
• IEC 61727 – Utility Interface Testing Requirements
Explanation of grid interface characteristics and testing requirements for photovoltaic systems, ensuring safe, reliable, and compliant grid interconnection under normal and abnormal operating conditions. This course will help you develop a strong understanding of safety testing requirements, limit, test procedures, and compliance expectations as per applicable IEC standards.
