In this course I’ll take you through all the steps you’ll need to consider to get your film made. I’ll show you how to break down a script, how to turn that into a schedule and a budget – because however little money you have, it always pays to have a budget. I’ll cover how to approach locations, tackle casting, and organise all the dull but vital stuff like catering and transport. Most importantly, I’ll explain how to make sure things run so smoothly and people have such a good time that they’re raring to come back for your next film.
My name’s Neil Oseman. In my 25+ years as a director of photography, I’ve witnessed good producing and bad producing firsthand, and the effects it has on cast and crew morale, productivity and the final quality of the film. This course is built from the lessons I’ve learnt from those productions, and my own producing experience, including the feature film “Soul Searcher”, a proof-of-concept shoot starring Benedict Cumberbatch, and two seasons of the multi-award-winning short-form “Ren: The Girl with the Mark”.
