This course is designed for Unity developers who want to learn the fundamentals of multiplayer game development using Photon Fusion 2 Shared Mode. We’ll start from the beginning by setting up Photon Fusion 2 in a Unity project and understanding how Shared Mode networking works. To keep things simple and beginner-friendly, we’ll use two capsule players to demonstrate the core multiplayer concepts used in real-world games.
Throughout the course, you’ll learn how players connect to the same session, how networked objects work, and how player movement is synchronized between multiple clients. You’ll also gain a solid understanding of important Fusion 2 concepts such as State Authority, Input Authority, NetworkRunner, NetworkObject, and NetworkTransform.
This course focuses on helping you understand the building blocks of multiplayer networking without overwhelming you with advanced systems. By the end of the course, you’ll have a working multiplayer prototype and the confidence to continue exploring more advanced multiplayer game development topics.
