Packaging testing is not simply about performing laboratory tests—it is about understanding what to test, why to test it, and how to use the results to make better packaging decisions. This practical course introduces the fundamentals of Packaging Material Testing and Validation, with a strong focus on real-world FMCG packaging applications. You will explore testing approaches for paperboard and corrugated packaging, flexible films and laminates, rigid plastic containers, closures, pumps, tubes, labels, printed packaging, aluminium foils, blisters, and specialised high-barrier structures.
The course covers key physical, mechanical, integrity, barrier, compatibility, functional, and appearance tests, including compression, top load, drop, tensile strength, seal strength, torque, OTR, WVTR, adhesion, and dispensing-performance testing.
More importantly, you will learn how to connect: Packaging Requirement → Risk → Failure Mode → Test → Acceptance Criteria → Decision
Through practical examples, you’ll understand how to investigate packaging failures, evaluate shelf-life and compatibility, select appropriate validation tests, and build a structured Packaging Test Plan.
