In this course we build a real microservices & modular monoliths system in .NET 9 from scratch, using Domain-Driven Design (DDD) and Vertical Slice Architecture. Instead of small, isolated demos, we design and implement a complete application for managing scientific articles, with real business workflows and constraints. You’ll see how to turn business requirements into bounded contexts, aggregates and domain events, and then implement them using C#, ASP.NET Core, EF Core, gRPC and messaging. Every feature is developed end-to-end: from the business rules, to the API contract, the persistence layer, and the tests.
Along the way we focus on practical architecture decisions:
- When to use microservices vs modular monoliths
- How to design vertical slices instead of “anemic” layers
- How to keep code clean, simple and testable
- How to handle microservice communication and domain events
What you’ll learn:
- Design and implement .NET 9 microservices with DDD and Clean Architecture
- Apply Vertical Slice, CQRS and MediatR in a real project
- Model solid aggregates, value objects and domain events
- Structure solutions for long-term maintainability
- Make pragmatic architecture trade-offs, not just follow theory
Who is this course for?
Intermediate C# / .NET developers who want to move from “just coding” to designing real systems. Software architects who want a concrete, end-to-end example of DDD and microservices in .NET. And motivated newcomers who want to experiment with modern C# design in a real project. Basic experience with C#, ASP.NET Core and SQL is recommended.
