This course continues your unique Excel-driven journey through music theory—where business professionals sharpen real spreadsheet skills while helping redesign a clearer, more logical system of harmony. Starting from Modal Chord Inversions (Part 1) and progressing through dropped-note logic, ocean-node naming, and outside-collection chord construction, this course transforms Excel into a powerful analytical engine for rebuilding chord theory from the ground up.
Traditional music theory is cluttered with inconsistencies—sharp this, flat that, suspended here, diminished there, and a naming system that collapses the moment you add, drop, or modify a single note. In this course, you’ll learn how to replace that broken legacy structure with a clean, uniform, distance-based naming system that Excel can compute, verify, and replicate across any key or modal environment.
Using Excel as your laboratory, you’ll build:
- Complete modal chord inversion tables
- Dropped-note chord structures for all seven modal shapes
- Ocean-note naming for notes outside the seven-note collection
- A fully functional system that replaces confusing chord names with clean, mathematical logic
- A DAW-friendly coordinate system ready for the next generation of composition tools
Every formula, range, reference, and lookup you build in Excel strengthens your spreadsheet skill set: absolute and mixed references, dynamic dragging, table visualization, controlled hiding/unhiding of data, and full-scale systems thinking.
Meanwhile, musicians and producers will finally gain a system that makes theory intuitive, consistent, transposable, and modern—no more contradictory naming conventions or memorization traps.
Whether you’re here for Excel, music theory, or the rare combination of both, this course guides you step-by-step toward mastering a smarter, more functional theory system—one that business professionals can model, and musicians can actually use.
