Welcome! My name is Zulqarnain Hayat, and in this course, you will learn how to upgrade Oracle databases from 11g to 12c on both Linux and Windows platforms. This course is designed specifically for DBAs who are responsible for maintaining and upgrading Oracle environments. With the release of Oracle 12c, companies worldwide are upgrading their databases, and DBAs must have the knowledge and skills to perform these upgrades efficiently and safely.
The course provides step-by-step guidance for performing Oracle upgrades, covering everything from initial software installation to making the upgraded database live. On the Linux platform, you’ll learn how to download Oracle Linux 7.6 and Oracle 11g/12c software, install and configure the Linux server, set up Oracle prerequisites, install Oracle 11g, create databases using DBCA, configure listeners using NETCA, and finally upgrade to 12c using DBUA.
On the Windows platform, you’ll gain hands-on experience installing Windows Server 2012, installing Oracle 11g, applying patches, installing Oracle 12c, running pre-upgrade SQL scripts, and upgrading databases to 12c using DBUA.
