“This course contains the use of artificial intelligence.” This Master Course on Safety Testing of Power Converters as per IEC 62109-1 and IEC 62109-2 is designed to give engineers, technicians, and compliance professionals a deep and practical understanding of safety evaluation for photovoltaic inverters, battery energy storage systems (BESS), EV chargers, and grid-connected power conversion equipment.
The course explains how real laboratories test inverters for electric shock protection, insulation, grounding, residual current, fault tolerance, temperature, fire risk, and abnormal conditions. You will learn how to interpret the standard clauses and apply them during design, testing, and certification.
Through clear explanations and practical examples, you will understand how touch current, insulation resistance, residual current detection, fault disconnection, grounding, and protective separation are verified in accordance with IEC 62109. The course also covers test setups, measurement instruments, test limits, pass-fail criteria, and documentation requirements used by accredited laboratories.
This training is ideal for anyone working in product design, testing laboratories, certification bodies, quality teams, or compliance engineering. By the end of the course, you will be able to confidently understand test reports, communicate with certification labs, and design safer, compliant power converter products for global markets. You can also go to my other standard lecture.
