What you’ll learn
- Analyze hydrologic cycle and identify sustainable water sources for efficient irrigation supply management
- Calculate crop water requirements using evapotranspiration and crop coefficients for varied growth stages
- Apply Bernoulli’s equation and hydraulic principles to assess fluid flow in irrigation pipelines
- Determine head losses with Darcy-Weisbach and Hazen-Williams formulas to design efficient conduits
Embark on a comprehensive journey into the world of irrigation system design, where you’ll master the essential principles of water management and fluid hydraulics. In this course, you’ll discover how to harness the power of the hydrologic cycle, evaluate sustainable water sources, and optimize soil-water-plant relationships to ensure healthy crop growth and efficient resource use. With a blend of theoretical foundations and hands-on methodologies, you will gain the skills to design irrigation systems that are both effective and environmentally responsible.Throughout the course, you will explore the physics behind fluid flow, from the fundamentals of density, viscosity, and continuity, to advanced applications of Bernoulli’s equation.
