In this course, we will begin by reviewing the foundations of drawing a traditional face in the American comic style. A basic understanding of how to construct a head and its facial features—eyes, nose, mouth, and so on—is required, since these topics will not be fully covered here. Instead, the first lesson will help you refine and strengthen those fundamentals, ensuring that your starting point is solid.
In the second lesson, I will share practical tips to adjust proportions and refine specific details. These adjustments will allow you to create a face that looks stronger, more striking, and visually appealing. You will also learn a few simple tricks to give your characters a more imposing presence through subtle changes in pose and expression.
The third lesson will focus on transforming this same face into a dynamic portrait. We will apply concepts that help you quickly achieve energy and movement in your character drawings, making them feel alive and engaging.
