This hands-on course provides a practical introduction to Infrastructure as Code using AWS CDK (Cloud Development Kit), a modern framework that allows you to define and provision AWS infrastructure using familiar programming languages. If you’ve ever wanted to manage AWS infrastructure as code without writing raw CloudFormation templates, this course is for you. We focus on learning by doing. There are no theory-heavy slides or unnecessary complexity. Instead, you’ll work directly with AWS CDK and deploy real AWS resources from the very beginning.
The course uses TypeScript, but AWS CDK also supports Python, Java, C#, and Go. The core CDK concepts remain the same across these languages, so the knowledge you gain can be transferred to whichever language you choose for your own projects. We will start by understanding what AWS CDK is, how it fits into the AWS ecosystem, and how it relates to CloudFormation. Then we’ll set up the development environment using Node.js, TypeScript, and the AWS CLI before creating and deploying your first CDK application.
