This hands-on course provides a practical introduction to AWS Step Functions, the fully managed orchestration service for building reliable serverless workflows on AWS. If you’ve ever wanted to coordinate multiple AWS services, automate business processes, or build resilient serverless applications, this course is for you. We focus on learning by doing. There are no theory-heavy slides or unnecessary complexity. Instead, you’ll build workflows from the very beginning using AWS Step Functions and other AWS services.
We will start by understanding what workflow orchestration is, why Step Functions are an important part of serverless architectures, and how state machines help coordinate distributed systems. Then we’ll move straight into practice. You’ll create state machines, connect AWS services, and learn how to orchestrate complex workflows with reliability and fault tolerance.
Throughout the course, you’ll explore concepts including:
- AWS Step Functions
- State machines
- Standard and Express workflows
- Task, Pass, Wait, Choice, Parallel, Map, and Succeed/Fail states
- AWS Lambda integration
- DynamoDB integration
- Amazon SNS integration
- Input and output transformations
