Once you’ve learned the basics of OPM, the next step is understanding how system elements relate to each other. In this hands-on course, we’ll take a deep dive into structural and procedural links — the core mechanisms that define architecture and behaviour in Object Process Methodology (OPM).
You’ll explore essential relation types like aggregation, exhibition, specialization, and procedural links such as enabling and transforming — all explained clearly with practical modelling examples. Through interactive quizzes, exercises, and a real-world scenario, you’ll develop a strong command of how to represent system dynamics and architecture using OPM.
By the end of this course, you’ll:
- Understand how to model system structure using structural links like aggregation, exhibition, generalisation, and classification
- Be able to represent dynamic behaviour using procedural links such as transforming and enabling
- Know how to handle complex relationships using tags, path labels, fork properties, and participation constraints
- Feel confident modelling a system involving multiple types of relations in OPCloud
To get the most out of this course, you’ll be able to sign up for a free temporary OPCloud license to follow along and complete the modelling exercises directly in your browser.
This course is ideal for systems engineers, system modellers, or MBSE practitioners who want to deeper their understanding of how to represent system structure and behaviour in their system models using OPM.
A basic familiarity with OPM is recommended, as this course builds on foundational topics introduced earlier in the Getting Started with OPM series.
Ready to take your next step with OPM? Let’s dive in.
- Engineers curious about MBSE
- System modellers looking to deepen their OPM skills
- Systems engineers wanting to master structural and procedural relations
