In real-world systems, things don’t just sit still — they change, respond to events, and adapt to conditions. This course will show you how to capture that logic and control flow using Object Process Methodology (OPM).
You’ll explore the event-condition-action paradigm, logical operators, and control links that bring decision-making and responsiveness into your models. With plenty of examples and simulation practice using OPCloud, you’ll learn how to represent operational scenarios like condition-driven actions, event-based triggers, and exception handling.
By the end of this course, you’ll:
- Understand how to model logic flow using AND, OR, NOT, and XOR operators
- Represent operational rules and behaviours with event, condition, invocation, and exception links
- Build dynamic, responsive system models in OPCloud
- Practise simulating system behaviour and testing logic under different conditions
To get the most out of this course, you’ll be able to sign up for a free temporary OPCloud license to follow along and complete the modelling exercises directly in your browser.
This course is ideal for systems engineers, system modellers, or MBSE practitioners who want to bring operational logic and control into their OPM system models.
A basic familiarity with OPM is recommended, as this course builds on foundational topics introduced earlier in the Getting Started with OPM series.
Time to bring your models to life — let’s get started!
- Engineers working with dynamic systems
- OPM modellers wanting to master logic and control flow
- MBSE practitioners looking to describe complex system behaviours
