Working with long documents can take hours. Contracts, reports, policies, research papers, and other PDF and Word documents often contain hundreds of pages of information that is difficult to read, summarize, and analyze manually.
This course teaches you how to use AI tools such as Claude, ChatGPT, and Gemini to work more effectively with long and complex documents. You’ll learn practical techniques for AI document analysis, document summarization, PDF summarization, information extraction, document comparison, prompt engineering, and AI accuracy checking. Claude is used as the primary example throughout the course, while the concepts and workflows can also be applied to ChatGPT and Gemini.
You’ll start by understanding how AI assistants interpret long documents, including context windows, prompts, document quality, and the limitations of AI document analysis. You’ll then learn how to choose the right AI assistant for different document tasks and how to upload documents while considering privacy and confidential information. The course then moves into practical document summarization. You’ll learn how to create quick document overviews, one-line summaries, short summaries, detailed summaries, and section-by-section summaries with source references.
