Created by Tom Hickman, Ph.D., a former biochemical engineering researcher turned strategy consultant and data analyst, this course distils the most valuable Excel functions, data analysis tools, and modelling techniques into clear, structured lessons. Whether you’re new to Excel or looking to strengthen your professional skills, you’ll learn how to work efficiently, analyse data confidently, and apply Excel the way it is used in real organisations.
Throughout the course, you’ll explore everything from core functions, logic tools, and lookup methods, to PivotTables, charts, forecasting, Monte Carlo simulations, conditional formatting, fuzzy lookup, and more. Each lesson includes hands-on examples, exercises, and step-by-step walkthrough solutions to help you build mastery and reinforce your learning.
The course also focuses on practical application, showing you how to use Excel to interpret data, compare scenarios, structure models, and generate insights that support real business and research decisions. By progressing through the lessons, you’ll gain the confidence to tackle real-world analytical tasks and work more effectively with data in your professional environment.
