Eco printing is a natural printing technique that transfers leaf shapes, plant pigments and natural textures directly onto fabric, using only heat, moisture and pressure. No synthetic dyes, no expensive equipment, no experience required. Every print is unique and can never be repeated, which makes each piece a limited edition of one.
In this course, you will learn directly from a master artisan in her home studio in Indonesia, the creator of the largest eco print in the world, a single piece of cotton measuring 3 by 6 meters. Every technique comes from years of real daily practice, not theory.
What you will learn
You will follow the complete process filmed live in the artisan studio: preparing the fabric with the exact mordant recipe (alum, ferrous sulfate and vinegar), selecting and arranging fresh leaves and flowers, rolling and binding the bundle tightly, steaming, and finally the most exciting moment of the craft, unwrapping your print.
