A hands-on course designed for engineers and designers who want to understand and get started in the world of plastic injection molding simulation using Autodesk Moldflow Adviser. Have you ever designed a plastic part and discovered, once in production, sink marks, weld lines, or short shots? These problems can be anticipated before manufacturing the mold, with the right simulation.
In this course, you’ll learn to use Moldflow Adviser step by step: from setting up a fill analysis to interpreting the results and applying DFM principles to your part. No prior experience with CAE simulation is required.
You’ll learn to:
- Set up and run a fill analysis in Moldflow Adviser
- Interpret key results: fill time, pressure, flow front temperature
- Identify defects before manufacturing the mold: weld lines, air traps, sink marks
- Apply DFM to optimize wall thickness and geometry
- Solve a complete hands-on case study, from CAD part to conclusions
This course covers part-level analysis — the foundation before moving into mold design (injection, cooling, cavity balancing), covered in a more advanced course.
