Designing roads is one of the most in-demand skills in civil engineering today—and Autodesk Civil 3D is the industry’s leading tool for delivering accurate, efficient, and professional road design projects. This course, Civil 3D Ultimate Road Design Course – Theory to Practice, is a complete, practical, and project-based journey that takes you from the foundations of Civil 3D all the way to producing a fully engineered road design.
Throughout the course, you will master surface creation, horizontal and vertical alignments, profile design, assemblies and subassemblies, corridor modeling, earthwork calculations, and intersection design. Each concept is explained clearly, step-by-step, and immediately applied to a real road design project, allowing you to learn exactly how road engineers work in real life.
You will not only learn the software—you will understand the engineering behind the decisions. From geometry rules and design standards to corridor targeting, grading solutions, and exporting final plans, you will build the full workflow used in professional companies.
This course is ideal for beginners, engineering students, surveyors, CAD technicians, and practicing civil engineers who want to level up their road design skills. No previous experience with Civil 3D is required; the lessons start from the basics and gradually bring you to advanced, industry-ready techniques.
By the end of the course, you will confidently plan, design, model, and analyze complete roadway projects from theory to final deliverables—using the same tools and workflows that top engineering firms rely on every day.
