This course contains the use of artificial intelligence. Certified Energy Management Professional (CEMP) is a structured program designed to develop practical capability in energy management from beginner to advanced professional level. Energy performance has become a core operational priority across buildings and industry, driven by sustainability goals, cost pressures, and the need for resilient, well-managed energy systems. This course supports professionals who want to understand how energy decisions are shaped by policies, codes, and standards, and how organizations translate those requirements into effective energy efficiency actions.
The curriculum builds a disciplined approach to energy management that connects real-world operational needs with technical evaluation. You will learn how to interpret energy rates and tariffs, evaluate supply options, and understand the principles behind energy audits and energy performance measurement. The course also strengthens your ability to make informed decisions using energy accounting and financial evaluation concepts—supporting clearer comparisons between improvement options and more defensible project prioritization.
Certified Energy Management Professional (CEMP) provides broad technical coverage across the systems that most commonly drive energy consumption and performance outcomes. You will develop the knowledge needed to evaluate electrical power systems and motors, lighting systems, HVAC and building envelope fundamentals, and the role of building automation and controls in monitoring and optimization. The course also introduces key considerations in energy storage, boiler and steam systems, and distributed generation and renewable energy systems—helping you place energy efficiency opportunities within a broader operational and technology context.
By completing this course, learners are better prepared to support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives through structured analysis, practical system understanding, and performance-focused thinking. The concepts covered align with professional expectations for energy management in organizations, including the ability to connect standards such as ISO 50001 with monitoring, continuous improvement, and measurement and verification principles that help sustain results over time.
