Hello & Welcome to this comprehensive WordPress Masterclass! If you’re eager to dive into the world of WordPress development, you’ve come to the right place. We will guide you from the basics to advanced concepts, empowering you to create stunning and functional websites with ease.
I’m Raouf Madani, a software developer based in Canada with over 7 years of experience in WordPress development. Throughout my career, I’ve developed and sold various products to companies across different industries using WordPress. Last year, I had the pleasure of teaching over 100 students online through HiCounselor (California, US), which inspired me to expand my teaching journey here on Udemy. In 2020, I won a startup award for developing a mobile app with my team—a milestone that fuels my passion for innovation and productivity.
This masterclass strikes the perfect balance between theory and hands-on practice. You’ll start by mastering the fundamentals of WordPress, including environment setup, dashboard navigation, understanding theme anatomy and simplify complex concepts of WordPress. As you progress, we’ll explore PHP, template hierarchy, and custom content creation using WP_Query. You’ll gain practical skills in building advanced features with custom post types, plugins, hooks, shortcodes, taxonomies, and widgets, as well as integrating a modern javascript framework React through WP Rest API to enhance your website’s interactivity. You will even go further by learning security tips and optimization ins and outs to strengthen your WordPress background.
Throughout the course, you’ll work on four real-world projects: Integrating an e-portfolio site to WordPress, converting a dynamic website using custom post types, integrating WordPress dashboard into a React website through the WP REST API, and creating a custom plugin. By the end, you’ll have the confidence to ace a technical interview for a remote WordPress developer role or even start your own WordPress development business.
