Are you nostalgic for the technology, media, fashion, and oddities of that time? I think the early 2000s are distant enough to look back at them with fresh eyes. In this class, we’ll explore five fun prompts to make drawings based on your memories of those strange years. I’ll focus on the years 2000-2009, but you can also draw from a few years before or after. I don’t want this to be a general reflection of that time, because that would be too vague. I want to concentrate on the things that mattered to me, personally—and I hope you will do the same. You can be a beginner or a professional; the main goal here isn’t to make flawless drawings anyway. So, please use any drawing tools you feel comfortable with (or if you want to go all in, use a drawing medium you often used in the early 2000s). I’ll be using alcohol markers.
