Sam Hurd – Which Prime Lens to Buy Using Zoom Lenses and Lightroom!

I’ve been wanting to make this video for years. This is a very quick and easy way for you to visualize your preferred focal lengths over time to help you figure out which prime lenses might be best for you to purchase. Even if you think you’re already sure about it… this is very worth a watch as it uses a few tools that might enable you to derive other insights from your shooting metadata!

Takeaways

• Consolidating all images into one Lightroom catalog allows for easy access to metadata and analysis.
• Sorting images by lenses and focal length can help determine the best prime lens for individual preferences.
• Visualizing focal length data using screenshots and tools like ChatGPT can provide insights into shooting patterns.
• Lightroom non-classic has limitations in terms of sorting and filtering options compared to Lightroom Classic.
