This 5000 Level educational opportunity is dedicated to reviewing a logical progression of Pythons plethora of built-in operations.
Advanced Workload
An extremely advanced undetaking, The Built-In Report (aka The BLT Report) is designed for those who’ve mastered both the Functional (Python 1000) and the Object Oriented (Python 2000) educational topics.
Fast Paced Learning
In order to keep the training as fast as possible, students are assumed to (1) already have Python installed, as well as to be willing to (2) stop the video and (3) practice any “new to you” topics, during each video presentation.
Width and Depth
Even if you’ve used idioms such as Python’s set(), list(), tuple(), and dict() the mission of this training is to delve deeper into ever more operations. -Commonly taught, yet suprisingly “new to us” operations.
Open Book Reviews
PyQuest review cards at the end of each video will also help insure topic mastery. -An “open book” concept review, it is completely fine to use Python to help answer each PyQuest question!
Open Source Project
Available on GitHub, you will enjoy downloading the tool we created to help us all keep track of the builtin review process. Able to keep track of all built-in operations across many versions of our favorite language, that project’s tools will also alert us to any new or missing built-in operations, over time.
Conclusion
So in as much as Python continues to evolve, when we have an ability to quickly see what has been added, the tools shared in the Oper Source project permit us to use Python to compare operation added, as well as removed. Rather than always forward looking, the Open Source project will also allow us to compare the features and function between all Python editions.
