SMOOTH: A Guide to Unique Sexy Concepts is a creative resource for photographers who want to move beyond predictable poses and bring greater intention, personality, and visual impact to sensual photography. Created by photographer, educator, and author Dan Hostettler, this guide is designed to help you develop concepts that feel confident, polished, expressive, and memorable.
Whether you are building a new model portfolio, refreshing an existing body of work, or simply looking for fresh inspiration, SMOOTH encourages you to approach every shoot with a stronger creative vision. Instead of relying on the same familiar ideas, you will discover ways to think about mood, styling, composition, posing, lighting, and storytelling so your images have a distinctive point of view.
The guide is particularly useful for photographers who want to create sophisticated sensual imagery while keeping the focus on creativity and collaboration. Its concepts can help you plan more purposeful sessions, communicate ideas clearly with your model, and turn inspiration into practical photographs. The result is a portfolio with greater variety, stronger visual identity, and images that are more likely to leave a lasting impression.
SMOOTH also includes four bonus videos, giving you additional visual material to complement the written guide. These resources are intended to help you observe the creative process, understand the ideas in practice, and translate them into your own shooting style.
From the first concept to the final frame, SMOOTH is about making deliberate creative choices. It is an invitation to experiment with atmosphere, emotion, confidence, and visual storytelling while developing a style that feels authentically yours.
Inside, photographers can explore:
• Fresh concepts designed to spark new ideas
