Welcome to “Take Amazing Photographs,” the photography course that will change the way you see the world through the lens of your camera. This course is designed to take you beyond the rules and technical aspects of photography and show you how to create images that are meaningful and impactful.
My approach to photography is different from other courses you may have taken. Instead of teaching you a set of rules and techniques to follow, I focus on helping you discover your unique artistic voice. I believe that photography is an art form, and that your vision and creativity are the most important elements of your craft.
Through a series of carefully designed lessons and exercises, you’ll learn how to develop your creative eye, find inspiration in the world around you, and tell compelling visual stories through your photographs.
Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced photographer, this course is designed to help you take your skills to the next level.
In “Take Amazing Photographs,” I believe that the best way to learn is by doing. That’s why each of the seven in-depth sessions includes an assignment that is specifically designed to help you put the concepts you’ve learned into practice.
And to make sure you don’t forget any of the valuable information from each session, I provide downloadable “fieldnotes” that summarize the key concepts and techniques. These fieldnotes are designed to be printed and taken with you when you go shoot, so you can refer back to them whenever you need a reminder.
Throughout the course, we’ll explore more than 200 of my own images, including 15 in-depth case studies that give you a behind-the-scenes look at the thought process behind each image. You’ll see how I approach different subjects and techniques and learn how to apply those same principles to your own work.
“Take Amazing Photographs” isn’t about technical skills and techniques. We’ll delve into the creative process, exploring how to find inspiration and develop your own unique style. We’ll talk about the importance of storytelling in photography, and how to use your images to communicate a message or evoke emotion.
And because some subjects don’t fit neatly into a course flow, I’ve included three additional sessions to address some of the topics that don’t fit elsewhere. These sessions cover everything from equipment to the “rules” of photog photography, giving you a well-rounded education that goes beyond just taking great pictures.
At “Take Amazing Photographs,” I’m committed to helping you grow and improve as a photographer. Whether you’re just starting out or you’re looking to take your skills to the next level, this course will help you develop your artistic voice, improve your creative skills, and create images that truly matter.
