Hello all, this is the free version of my Opentoonz course. Opentoonz is a high quality and feature-rich animation suit that has been free and open source since 2016 and has been used by studios such as Studio Ghibli and Rough Draft Studios.
In this course we will cover the following topics:
- Get started using the basic drawing tools
- Create frame-by-frame animations
- Importing assets and exporting
- Learn about advance animation tools like:
- Motion and shape tweening
- Special effects
- Adding sound effects
- Rigging a character
- Using the plastic tool for animating flexible objects
- Lipsyncing
The only down side to Opentoonz is that the learning curve can be quite steep. But don’t worry! In this course we will go over everything you need to know to get started.
This course contains both ‘explainer’ videos which provide a lot of information as well as practical exercises designed to help the learner consolidate and remember the information and turn the passive knowledge into a valuable skill.
This course is perfect for people who are interested in taking the first steps in animation and don’t want to spend much on high monthly license fees.
If you are interested you can get the first two chapters of this course completely free. Just browse through my course or search for “Getting started Animating with Opentoonz”
