Glenn Bartley is a world-class nature photographer who has dedicated his life to capturing the beauty and intricacies of birds in their natural habitats. Based in Victoria, Canada, Glenn is particularly well known for his portraits of rare and elusive birds from the Neotropical Region and his stunning portfolio of hummingbird images. His love for photography began when he was just a child in Ontario, where he spent time capturing images of hummingbirds with a simple 35mm camera in his backyard. Glenn’s passion for bird photography eventually took him to Costa Rica and Ecuador for extended periods, where he was able to immerse himself in nature and develop his skills in tropical bird photography, including his signature multiflash hummingbird photography technique. His dedication paid off, with his unique ability to capture rare and difficult-to-photograph birds gaining recognition and acclaim around the world. Today, Glenn’s work can be seen in a wide variety of prominent nature books, magazines, and other publications, and he has authored several books and instructional guides himself, making him a respected and influential figure in the world of nature photography.
