Take your portrait photography to the next level with Portraiture Critique 2026, an expert-led photography learning experience designed to help you understand what makes a portrait truly stand out. Curated by Karl Taylor and the Visual Education team, this in-depth critique session offers valuable professional insight into real portrait images and the creative decisions behind them.
Explore the creative choices that shape powerful portraiture, from composition and framing to lighting, balance, expression, and the overall visual impact of the image. The critique format allows you to see how experienced photographers analyse an image, identify areas for improvement, and suggest practical ways to strengthen the final result. You will also gain insight into the importance of subtle details, including crop decisions, symmetry, tonal control, colour, and the way a portrait communicates the personality of its subject.
