An engagement session with a difference is this month’s Ice Pick video: An amazing and evocative photoshoot with Devon and Matt that sees Jerry using nothing but a white wall and direct overhead sunlight. It will show you just what is possible when the light is very harsh and how important the right posing is. The theme of working with difficult direct sunlight continues in the Posing & Lighting segment as Jerry demonstrates how not to pose a subject and then how to fix it, he also shares some essential rules of composition and what to watch out for when shooting in a beach environment. Advice this month brings you a single image critique for 10 different members – this continues to be one of the most instructive segments on the Ice Society, you can learn so much from having your own work critique by a WPPI Grand Master and nearly as much watching him critique someone elses work. Ice Queens brings you a series of wedding portraits taken in a very un-photogenic location, proving once again that light and posing are the key to great photos. Practice takes a quick behind the scenes look at the Ice Queen shoot location and some of the tricks Jerry employed to get amazing results. In the Tip of the Iceberg Jerry shares some advice on the techniques he has found that work best when presenting work to prospective clients. In the Icing on the Cake Jerry talks you through how to create a great shot at night using just street lighting; again posing is the key to success.
