In this third installment in our Decision Making series on Udemy, Decision Making for Leaders: Personal Effectiveness dives into three key topics for today’s business and manufacturing leaders:
- Understanding Unconscious Biases
- Emotional Intelligence and Leadership
- The Leadership Triangle, a model of the decision making process
A strong foundation in each of these areas will expand your decision making acumen, help you to become a better organizational leader, and prepare you for the next step in your career.
In the section titled “Understanding Unconscious Biases”, we cover the major issues of unconscious biases, what they are, and how they affect our decision making. By developing a skill for identifying these biases and building safeguards into your decision making processes, you can advance your organization toward a clearer trajectory.
In the section titled “Emotional Intelligence and Leadership”, you will learn the importance of understanding emotional intelligence (abbreviated “EI”) in making decisions and how today’s best leaders learn this critical set of skills. EI is the ability to perceive, interpret, and demonstrate emotions to effectively communicate and relate with others. And its consistent use not only helps build a stronger team, it also helps build a better life.
And in the final section titled “The Leadership Triangle”, you will take a dive into the decision making process. The Leadership Triangle is a three-layered model where decision types are classified by cost, risk, and duration. By understanding the dynamics of each layer and who in your organization is best qualified to make decisions at each, your organization becomes more efficient and more effective.
