What you’ll learn
Hi-Pot (Dielectric Withstand) test (Theory + Practical)
Requirements
Basic knowledge of electrical power system is needed for this course. Previous awareness with IR test would be great.
Description
Hi-pot is one of the most important tests that are needed to verify the insulation quality for an electrical equipment. If you are a Power engineer, Technician, Test engineer, Quality Assurance and Quality Control personnel, Commissioning engineer, Project engineer, Site engineer, Site supervisor, Project Control authority, or even a Fresh engineer seeking for a career development, then this is a prime course for you.
Starting from theory to test devices and ending with the practical implementation of Hi-Pot test, you will have a complete guidance that will assist you to choose the correct test type and be sure about test value and duration. This course is taking you step by step though 5 sections to understand the main idea of Hi-Pot test and why it is needed and even current practices.
Common concerns and questions and / or comparison (like difference between Hi-Pot and IR test, How often should we implement Hi-Pot test, What are the advantages of VLF over power frequency, Which Hi-Pot test is suitable for my equipment, and Hi-Pot test for large machines’ windings Motors and Generators) are all done and answered with sufficient information to empower your knowledge.
Before ending this course, useful downloadable resources are also available.
At the very end of this course, a quiz is provided to test your performance and understanding.
