This entry-level Certified Entry-Level Data Analyst with Python (PCED™) training prepares data analysts to manipulate, analyze and visualize data using Python. As a programming language, Python acts as a backbone for some of the world’s most powerful and versatile data analysis tools. Whether you need tools for data analysis, data manipulation, data visualization or basic statistical methods, this course covers how to use Python for data analysis while preparing you for the PCED certification.
What you’ll learn
Manipulating data with Python libraries like Pandas and NumPy
Visualizing data using Python libraries like Matplotlib and Seaborn
Applying basic statistical methods to interpret data
Manage data in SQL tables
Create classification models using machine learning algorithms
FAQs
Is the Certified Entry-Level Data Analyst with Python cert worth it?
Yes, the PCED is definitely worth it – it’s a well-respected certification in a broadly useful field that can solidify skills and prove readiness for a job, and it looks great on any resume. The PCED provides a solid foundation not just in data analysis concepts, but specifically in Python – one of the most versatile and popular programming languages in the industry. If you do any sort of work in data manipulation, visualization, or statistical analysis, the PCED is worth it.
How much does it cost to earn the PCED?
You only have to pass one exam to earn the PCED, its exam code is PCED-30-01. At the time of this writing, the PCED-30-01 costs $59. You can pay $76.70 for two attempts at the test (in case you fail the first time). They aren’t mandatory, but the Certified Entry-Level Python Programmer (PCEP) and Certified Associate Python Programmer (PCAP) are both highly recommended, and they cost $59 and $295, respectively.
Is earning the PCED and using Python enough to be a data analyst?
It’s possible to start your career as a data analyst with no other training or experience beyond Python or the PCED, but it will be a little challenging. Most data analyst positions also expect knowledge and experience with SQL, Excel and domain-specific tools like Tableau or Power BI. Learning Python well enough to earn the PCED proves you can perform specific data analysis in certain contexts, but there’s always more you can learn.
What is Python especially good for in data analysis?
Python is a simple and readable programming language that supports a huge ecosystem of libraries (pre-written Python code for certain tasks). Python libraries like Pandas streamlines data manipulation, the NumPy library is great for numerical operations, and Matplotlib or Seaborn can both handle data visualization. Python is also open source, which means it gets improved rapidly and frequently, plus its community support is excellent.
Who should take this entry-level data analyst with Python course?
This PCED course is great for any working professional who needs a strong foundation in data analysis. Whether you’re changing careers into data analysis or incorporating data analysis into your current job, learning Python and its data analysis libraries is a broadly valuable skill. Data analysis comes in many different forms, and Python is a flexible language well-suited to the many different ways professionals need to analyze and understand data.
Who is this for?
This PCED training is considered foundational-level Python training, which means it was designed for data analysts. This Python skills course is valuable for new IT professionals with at least a year of experience with programming language and experienced data analysts looking to validate their Python skills.
