BlendRef is an add-on for Blender that allows users to manage images and videos references directly in the viewport while working on sculpting, animating, or modeling tasks. Unlike other apps like BeeRef or PureRef, BlendRef seamlessly integrates into the Blender interface, eliminating the need for an external application window. With BlendRef, there is no need to click on the app to zoom or move an image, as it is all done within the Blender viewport.
The video functionality of BlendRef is particularly efficient for animation references, allowing users to loop and slow down specific segments as needed. Additionally, users can now add text to their references, making it easier to organize and sort them. It’s worth noting that all references are stored in specific collections, enabling users to easily transfer their references from one blend file to another by simply appending the collections.
