Turn any video into grungy, pixelated footage using authentic dithering algorithms.
Dither Decay is an effect plugin for Adobe After Effects and Premiere Pro. Apply it to any footage, and it converts the image into an authentic dithered output using algorithms inspired by early gaming console hardware. The result sits somewhere between lo-fi pixel art and analogue degradation—a grungy, textural aesthetic that gives clean footage real character.
Detail Control — Set detail low for a gnarly, fully pixelated look or high for a subtle textural wash. Fine-tune your output to land anywhere on the spectrum between full abstraction and gentle noise.
11 Color Palettes + Custom Colors — Choose from 11 hand-built color palettes or define your own with the custom palette selector. No weird file formats. No confusing interfaces. Just pick your colors and go.
Multiple Dithering Methods — Choose from several authentic dithering algorithms, each producing a distinctly different texture. Mix and match with palette options to land on a look that’s entirely your own.
Fast & Intuitive — Dither Decay is built to get you from idea to output as fast as possible. Great results right out of the box, with deeper controls available whenever you need them.
